thumbnail Hello,

In a must-not-lose situation for Canada, expect the side to finally score a few goals against a Cuban side not used to cold weather tonight at BMO Field (7:45pm ET kickoff).

Canada currently sits tied for second place in its four-team World Cup quailfication group after posting a 2-1-1 record, but it is two goals back of Honduras in a tie-breaker at the moment. The two sides meet on Oct. 16 in a crucial finale, but both will need to pick up points tonight to have the advantage going into their tilt next week.

The Canucks have the easier of the opposition tonight as they face a Cuba squad that has yet to win a match or score a goal for that matter in their four qualifying matches. With the exeption of a 3-0 loss to Honduras, the Cuban haven't exactly been whipping boys for anybody with their other three losses all being 1-0 results.

Canada, on the other hand, has struggled hard to score goals and will need to fire away at the Cuban net and more importantly finish their chances. Canada has only potted two goals in its four matches in the current round, including a 1-0 away win in terrible conditions in Havana in the last match between the two sides.

The Canada win does not offer any value at all at only 1.14, but to win both halves the odds at 1.90 is a lot better. I also expect the second half to be the highest scoring as the pressure for Canada to score will be immense and that is being offered by Sportsbook.com at 2.03. If you think Canada will take advantage of the cold weather and catch the Cubans off-guard early, then maybe the first half most goals bet at 3.60 is your solution.

The Cubans actually cancelled one of their practices this week citing the weather as being too cold and with the temperature at BMO Field tonight expected to be at 5 degrees Celsius and dropping as the game progresses, they will need to run hard just to stay warm and that can cause this not-so-skilled team to make big mistakes.

For the correct score markets, I like Canada with a 3-0 victory which is slated for 5.50. Try hedging some of these bets with the Canada 2-0/3-1/4-0 at 4.40/11.00/7.90.
