In one of two games in MLS tonight, the Vancouver Whitecaps host Chivas USA at BC Place in a match with serious playoff implications for the 'Caps.
The Vancouver Whitecaps still sit two points ahead of FC Dallas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and will look to open up that gap with a big win over the second-worst team in the league when Chivas USA comes to town.
The 'Caps have been very strong at home this year with a record of 7-2-6 (W-L-T), but they have been brutal over the last two months. Martin Rennie’s boys have not won in seven straight games, losing five on the trot before notching a pair of home draws against Seattle and Colorado.
The Vancouver victory is listed at 1.60 over at Sportsbook.com, and you can actually snag a ridiculous $500 in bonus money if you sign up there. The halftime/fulltime result for Vancouver is at 2.46.
The draw result offers a little more money, but with what’s at stake for Vancouver I lean towards the outright win. If you feel Chivas will cause them some headaches and walk away with a tie, then take it at 3.55.
The team’s epic flop will have its best opportunity to end tonight as Chivas have not won in their last ten matches, including six straight losses. The visitors last match saw them obliterated at home by Real Salt Lake in a 4-0 thrashing, and it has been a brutal season to say the least for the Goats. Should they break their two-and-a-half month winless streak it’ll payout a robust 5.35.
Chivas are also by far the lowest-scoring team in all of MLS with only 21 goals scored in 30 games. Both teams have averaged less than 2.5 goals per game so look at the Under 2.5 which right now at Sportsbook.com is sitting at 1.75. If it is a 1-0 win for Vancouver then 5.55 is the payout.
