Friday Night MLS Betting: LA and Sporting KC for the wins

LA and Sporting Kansas City host Colorado and Houston, respectively, as the MLS regular season starts to wind down.

The first match of the evening in Major League Soccer sees the beasts of the east in Sporting Kansas City  looking to get closer to clinching the first playoff spot of any team. To get there they’ll have to fend off the Houston Dynamo who are fighting to get in the playoffs.

Sporting has been solid so far this year at Livestrong Park, having produced a strong record of 8-3-3 while also going unbeaten in their last 7 games in all competitions, including five at home.

Take the Sporting win at 1.83 in the outright market in this one. A draw result will see a payout of 3.20 while Houston, currently fourth place in the East, five points behind SKC, is offered at 3.75.

The LA Galaxy are only paying out 1.53 for an outright win tonight against the meek Colorado Rapids, so perhaps add that win with the Sporting KC win as a double. A $10 bet with LA and SKC to win would pay out $28 over at

Though the Galaxy’s home record is only slightly above .500 at 7-5-1 (W-L-T), it is Colorado’s brutal road performances that lead them to be 5.50 underdogs coming in. The Rapids have only won two of 14 games on the road this year and haven’t drawn a single one. Ouch.

The draw result here is 3.50, and with Beckham and Donovan listed as questionable, LA will be pushing to inch up the Western Conference ladder to get a more favourable opponent in the first round of the playoffs.

If you are looking at something other than the outright markets, then take the LA game at Over 2.5 seeing as Galaxy games this year have averaged 3.5 goals per game, second most in the league. The odds for the O2.5 can be found online at 1.80.
