thumbnail Hello,

The second match in the European section of World Cup qualifying gets under way when a promising Belgium squad host the always dangerous Croatians in a pivotal game in Group A.

After winning their opening matches on Friday, Croatia and Belgium will dual it in Brussels in a key game between two of the stronger teams in Group A.

Belgium were able to take three big points on the road when they beat Wales 2-0. Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany opened up the scoring in the 41st followed by a late strike by Jan Vertonghen that sealed it. To score in today’s match at any point in this game, Kompany is paying 13.00 while Vertonghen is set at 8.00. The best bet for Belgium to score probably lies with Chelsea attacking midfielder Eden Hazard who pays out 3.00 to score at any point but 8.50 to net the first or last of the match.

On paper this is the best Belgian team in the last 10 years which is also the same amount of time it has been since they have been to a major international competition. They finished 3rd during Euro 2012 qualifying behind Germany and Turkey respectively. Despite that setback, many are tipping the Western European side to finish in one of the top two spots in the group, even ahead of Serbia and Scotland.

Belgium can be had right now for 1.95 for the outright win or a straight 2.00 with a half goal disadvantage in the Asian handicap lines.

Croatia never seem to get respect despite being one of Europe’s toughest teams since they formed in the 90s. They defeated Macedonia 1-0 in Zagreb in what was a surprisingly tighter result than most expected. They also finished third in their group during the Euro 2012 with a record of 1-1-1 against Spain, Italy and Ireland.

Croatia are larger than usual underdogs and here they can be found at 4.00 at most major bookmakers. If they are able to win to nil (shutout Belgium) that rate goes up to 6.50.

The draw result is currently sitting at 3.30 and may just be the best bet of the day. Canada is the place to be through the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with news, photos, and video covering every corner of the globe.
