thumbnail Hello,

The Columbus Crew take their four-game win streak and playoff aspirations on the road Wednesday night when they visit the New England Revolution.

The Crew play their third game in a week and have been one of the hottest teams in MLS throughout August, losing only once during the month. They’ve been able to etch out big points as of late, going unbeaten in their last six and winning four straight. They currently hold the fifth and final playoff spot in what is shaping up to be a very tight and exciting race in the Eastern Conference, and a win against New England would vault them into third with a four-point cushion against D.C. United.

At an average odds offering of 3.00, I like the Crew to come out on top, though like in their last 10 games, expect this one to be decided by a single goal. With 4-5-4 (W-L-T) to show on the road so far, their performance away from Ohio isn’t that bad, with last week’s win at Philadelphia a good showing of their resolve.

Don’t forget that Columbus beat New England 4-3 only 10 days ago in a classic battle.

The draw is currently sitting at 3.20, and I expect these odds to be lower towards kickoff as many bettors will equate these two teams as relatively even.

If you want to play conservative and look to a yield of 46% then take a look at the Double Chance for Columbus which sees – you guessed it – 1.46 being offered should they win or draw.

The Revs' record at Gillette Stadium isn’t really as outstanding as it used to be, with a record of 5-4-5 to show for it. In addition, they haven’t won at home in their last five games, including losses to lowly Toronto FC and a boring 0-0 draw against Philadelphia this past Saturday.

New England is favoured at 2.37 for the outright victory, despite not having won a game in 10 matches.
