thumbnail Hello,

The opening battle between the long-time east coast rivals will be testy and most likely a high scoring affair.

The always-entertaining battle between D.C. United and New York Red Bulls takes place Sunday evening, and with both teams riding unbeaten streaks, second place in the Eastern Conference is on the line, as is, of course, bragging rights.

This will be the first matchup of the season between the Atlantic Cup rivals and despite dropping its first two matches of the year, D.C. comes into the match unbeaten in its last five, generating two wins and three draws along the way. A D.C. win is paying 2.30 over at Ladbrokes.

New York is also enjoying a very strong run of late, having won three and drawing one in its last four. The Red Bulls have been running rampant over their opponents in those games and during that stretch have been on an devastating scoring tear, averaging close to four goals per game. With 16 goals in total on the campaign, New York easily sits atop the MLS scoring chart. A New York victory is currently set at a healthy 2.75.

While the draw is paying 3.25, New York is playing with a tremendous amount of confidence and vigour, led by the dynamic scoring team of Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper who are currently tied for the MLS lead in goals with seven each. Despite losing midfielder Rafa Marquez to suspension, expect New York to come out on top in this one.

With all of New York's last four games going over 3.5 goals, other decent bets to look for are the goal line options, with the first half over 1.0 at 2.02 while the total match over 2.5 goals is at 1.88.
