The Revolution look to continue their good run of form while FC Dallas will be hoping to reverse some recent bad fortune.
Dallas, on the other hand, finds itself riding a two-game skid, and although unbeaten in two home matches so far this season (one win and one draw), the team is still smarting from the 4-1 beating it received in Washington last Friday from DC United.
Although it is still too early in the season to see a consistent pattern from either team, if the past couple of games give us any indication, we should expect to see the over 2.5 goals in the match, which is paying 2.04 on Ladbrokes.com.
Dallas matches have gone over 2.5 three of the four matches so far in 2012, with a total of 13 goals scored in those games. The team appears to be a much different one defensively than it was last season when they finished fifth best in goals-allowed with 39 in 34 games.
The Texans are still strong favourites however, paying 1.80 for the win (a draw offers 3.30), while the surging Revs are paying 4.00.
For those new to online betting, there is a type of bet called a double chance. This type of bet allows a bettor to select a team to win or draw, taking 2/3's of the equation in their favour. The downside, obviously, is that a potential winning payout is substantially reduced.
After watching New England's performance against the Galaxy this past weekend, one may be tempted to go with them on the double chance which is paying out 1.80. It certainly isn't as juicy as the 4.00 that they are paying to win outright, and this should be expected to dip down a bit closer to kickoff.
