After being held to a point in a tempestuous second half, the British captain claims that their opponents were lucky to finish the game with a full set of playersTeam GB captain Ryan Giggs has condemned the tough-tackling approach of Senegal after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in their opening Olympic Games group match.
The Africans' robust tactics have seen Stuart Pearce's side nursing several injury concerns ahead of their next game on Sunday against the United Arab Emirates, with both Joe Allen and Craig Bellamy now doubful and Giggs was left fuming.
"There were a few naughty challenges in there and a few of our lads are probably struggling for Sunday now," Giggs raged to reporters.
"There was no consistency. Craig Bellamy got booked going in for a header and then there were some ridiculous challenges but you don't even see a yellow card.
"I don't know how many fouls the number 10 had, but in a Premier League game he'd probably have been sent off three times."
Moussa Konate notched a late equalizer after Bellamy has earlier put his side ahead. They go into their second game now needing a win, after Uruguay dispatched UAE 2-1 earlier in the day.
