The Tottenham midfielder described his pride at being called up to Mano Menezes' squad and believes his side has the quality to take the gold medal at London 2012.

Tottenham midfielder Sandro has revealed his pride after being named in the Brazil squad for the Olympic Games and is targeting a "dream" gold medal win.

Brazil, which won bronze at the Beijing 2008 edition of the Games, is favorite for the London 2012 tournament which is set to held at venues throughout England. And the 23-year-old, who made his name at Brazilian club Internacional before his move to Spurs, believes Mano Menezes' side has the quality to win the competition.

“I feel so proud, so happy,” Sandro told reporters. “Brazil has never won this competition and I know we have a great opportunity this time and to make history in our country.

“We have a fantastic squad with Neymar, Pato, Leandro Damiao, Oscar – every player in the squad is a great player. It would be a dream for me if we can win this tournament. If we manage to do it we will be very happy.”

Brazil begins its Group C campaign against Egypt on Thursday July 26 before facing Belarus on July 29 and New Zealand on Aug. 1.
