The Mexico coach admits there is still plenty left to be determined when it comes to the 23 players he will bring to Brazil.
“Truthfully, my head spins,” said Herrera Tuesday in an event to launch the Panini World Cup sticker collection in Mexico.
Herrera also gave another hint that the players he already knows from Club America and the ones that he has seen adapt to his 5-3-2 during Mexico’s three friendlies so far in 2014 have an advantage.
“(People) tell me that one (player) is better than another, and yes, but for what I want to do on the pitch, as coach, I have to decide who adapts quickest because there isn’t a lot of time,” stated the former Atlante manager.
“Piojo” went on to talk about the fiercely-disputed goalkeeping position and admitted he still isn’t sure which of Guillermo Ochoa, Jesus Corona, Moises Munoz or Alfredo Talavera will miss out on the final 23.
“It’s (the position) that least concerns me, but the one that’ll give me the greatest headache in choosing three,” said Herrera. “I think that all four deserve to go, but unfortunately one will have to be left out.”
