thumbnail Hello,

The former Monterrey starlet opened his Eredivisie account with the final goal in a 5-0 romp over Groningen.

Jesus Corona can cross scoring in Europe off his career bucket list.

The 20-year-old Mexican starlet opened his account with FC Twente with the final goal in a 5-0 romp over Groningen on Sunday. Corona, making his first league appearance and second appearance with the Dutch side overall, had come on as a 69th-minute substitute with the game already in hand.

That did not stop Corona from getting in the mix, though, as he pounced on a poor touch by Groningen's Rasmus Lindgren, who had received a pass from goalkeeper Marco Bizot. Corona collected the ball, carried toward the edge of the box and lofted a chip over a helpless and sliding Bizot into a vacated net for the final tally of the rout for his first goal on the club level since April. Corona tallied for the Mexico U-20 national team against Mali in this past summer's World Cup as well.

The win, and margin of victory, shot Twente into first place in the Eredivisie, with the club level on points with PSV and Heerenveen but ahead on goal differential.
