The Chivas midfielder will go under the knife on Tuesday to repair a tear in his knee. The Olympic gold medalist played in one league game for the Guadalajara team this season.
Chivas' Jorge Enriquez will miss more than a month of action due to a tear in his right knee, according to the club.
The defensive midfielder will undergo surgery to fix the injury on Tuesday, after picking up the knock in this weekend's Liga MX match against San Luis.
Enriquez, one of Mexico's 18 gold medalists following the London 2012 Olympic tournament, did not travel to Guatemala along with the rest of the Guadalajara team to take part in its CONCACAF Champions League match against Xelaju.
Following Chivas' 1-0 win over San Luis, the team's first in the current Apertura 2012 campaign, team doctor Rafael Ortega determined surgery would be necessary to correct the injury.
After the surgery, Enriquez will receive a time frame as to when he can come back. Currently, it's expected that the midfielder will be out more than a month.
