thumbnail Hello,

The Mexican playmaker says he's not frustrated with the lack of movement in the transfer market, but admits he could remain at White Hart Lane should no more options arise.

After Mexico's U-23 national team manager Luis Fernando Tena declared that Giovani dos Santos would sign for a new club, it seemed like the former Barcelona player's journey was finally settled.

However, talks appear to have broken down as Tena's words now seem to be another red herring in Dos Santos' long process of exiting White Hart Lane.

In fact, the Tottenham player has admitted to Mexican press that as of now, staying in North London is a distinct possibility.

"The transfer window closes on August 30," Dos Santos said to RECORD. "I'm not getting desperate but if there's no other option I'm still a Tottenham player and I'll keep playing here and do it in the best possible manner."

Dos Santos claimed not to have any leads on the situation with Malaga, said to have been the new frontrunner in the chase for his services.

"Nothing concrete. I'm waiting to see what happens the next few days and stay calm here with my national team. There are obviously options, but my agent takes care of those things," Gio said.

Finally, the former Racing player sized up his country's chances in London 2012.

"We don't take note in what other Mexican national teams have done in the past, we have a great team with great talent and a winning mentality, if we all believe that we can do it, we can go there and bring back a medal."
