Reports suggest that Carlos Vela could make a permanent move to Real Sociedad in as little as two weeks.
The Mexican international is the center of a transfer negotiation between Arsene Wenger and the San Sebastian club, with Real Sociedad making a $4.6 million bid for its top scorer in the 2011-12 campaign, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Vela, 23, scored 12 goals for the Txuri-urdin last season, tying with Imanol Aguirretxe as the team's most productive offensive player.
Arsenal's posture as late as May has been that Wenger would be open to negotiating with Eduardo Hernandez, Vela's agent, in order to facilitate a solution that would satisfy both sides.
The former Osasuna winger declined a call-up with Mexico's U-23 side earlier this summer alleging that clearing his future via a new contractual situation was more important than representing the country in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In 29 league appearances with Arsenal, Vela scored three goals between 2008 and 2011.
