The forward is close to sealing a move to Roma, with his current manager revealing an exit for the Ivorian is near.Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Gervinho is poised to leave Arsenal amid speculation he will join Roma.
The Ivory Coast international striker has failed to find the net on a regular basis since arriving from Lille in 2011, scoring nine Premier League goals in 46 appearances.
The Italian side is reportedly willing to match the player's weekly 50,000 pound Gunners salary while spending almost 7 million pounds on a transfer fee, and Wenger has revealed an exit is drawing near.
"We are at the moment close to an agreement with a club where he should go," Wenger told the club’s official website following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Napoli at the Emirates Cup.
Wenger also used the post-match press conference to give an update on the futures of Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh, who have been linked with the likes of Malaga and Crystal Palace, respectively.
"Bendtner we are nowhere. At the moment he is completely here," Wenger said. "Chamakh might go somewhere, it will be decided in the next 48 hours."
