The Borussia Dortmund striker has attracted a number of admirers after a fantastic season in Germany when he spearheaded Jurgen Klopp's side to the league title.
Should any such move come to fruition, he will follow former teammate Shinji Kagawa to Old Trafford. Smuda believes it is a positive move for the player, and commented that fellow Polish stars Lukasz Piszczek and captain Jakub Blaszczykowski are destined to move to new clubs as well.
"Lewy' is going to Manchester United, Kuba also somewhere in England, Piszczek to Real (Madrid)," Smuda told Reuters. "They have a goal and they want to grow. I base the squad on them."
Lewandowski enjoyed a superb campaign in the Bundesliga last season helping Dortmund to the title and bagging 22 league goals along the way.
