The Rovers manager admits that competition is hotting up for the Canadian's signature, but has not ruled out the possibility of keeping the youngster at Ewood ParkBlackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has not ruled out the possibility of holding onto star man Junior Hoilett, who is out of contract in the summer.
The 21-year-old has been a rare bright spark in a miserable season for Rovers, and now looks certain to move to a bigger club following his side’s relegation from the Premier League.
Tottenham and Arsenal are said to be showing an interest in the talented Canadian, and there has also been talk of European giants Bayern Munich and Marseille considering a move.
Kean confirmed that there will be serious competition for the attacker’s signature, and is not surprised by the attention.
"I don't think it is going to be just clubs in this country,” he said.
"I'm told that there is interest from abroad. I can understand why because he has had some great performances, not only this season, but the past couple of seasons.”
However, the Scotsman is refusing to give up hope of Hoilett stepping out at Ewood Park in the Championship next season, and suggested that a new contract offer is on the table.
"We'll make a last-ditch effort to put something in front of him. You never know."
