Chivas 2-1 Queretaro

Many weren't sure what to make of Omar Bravo's move from Atlas back to Chivas during the winter transfer window. Was it a desperate reach across town for the Guadalajara outfit, plucking up a player who had helped the club to past glories? Or was it a savvy move that would help the club surge out of the bottom portions of the Liga MX table?

So far, things are going reasonably well, especially after Bravo scored both goals for Chivas in a 2-1 win against Queretaro. The first goal required several excellent touches as the forward held off a defender and kept the ball from Gallos Blancos goalkeeper Edgar Hernandez. What the second lacked in flourish, it made up for in importance, with a Hernandez howler allowing Bravo's shot to trickle between his legs and into the net for the winning goal.

The result sees Chivas move level on points with rival America, and while the season is still young, it's already safe to say things are going much better than they did last tournament. Bravo's brace moved him to three goals in seven matches, so the jury is still out on whether or not he'll be a crucial part of a successful run. The verdict for this week is in though, and his performance stood out as the best in the region.

Congratulations to Omar Bravo, Goal's 10th CONCACAF Player of the Week winner!

  The Shortlist

Sacha Kljestan - Anderlecht

Anderlecht was uninspiring in a 2-0 victory against the league's last-place team, but Kljestan provided the spark the team needed, scoring a nicely headed goal and providing an assist. The club performance will only boost his U.S. national team stock with a friendly in Ukraine approaching.

Carlos Vela - Real Sociedad

Even if he won't be at the World Cup, the Mexican forward is in the best form of any player from a CONCACAF nation, which he showed by scoring the lone goal against Malaga in a 1-0 win. He also tormented Malaga's defenders, drawing two yellow cards in addition to his strike.

Aron Johannsson - AZ

The young American international had a bit of an injury scare last week, but shook that off and got back to scoring in the Dutch league this week, helping AZ earn a 1-1 draw against countryman Juan Agudelo's Utrecht.

Hector Herrera - Porto

Herrera earned rave reviews and assisted what turned out to be the winning goal in Porto's 2-1 win against Gil Vicente. It's the second week running the 23-year-old has gone the full 90, which should grab Miguel Herrera's attention.
