The Netherlands legend has voiced his opinion that Oranje would be better off without the Inter star, and prefers the Arsenal forward in the position of attacking midfielder

Former Netherlands international Willem van Hanegem has voiced his opinion that Oranje would be better off without Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder at Euro 2012.

"Klaas-Jan Huntelaar should start as our striker, with Robin van Persie in the position behind him," Van Hanegem stated to Algemeen Dagblad.

Van Hanegem feels that the former Real Madrid star has not played enough this season to be ready for the European Championships, and would prefer to see Arsenal forward Robin van Persie in the position of attacking midfielder.

"Sneijder has hardly played this season. We'd have a problem if he is available, but I'd still opt for Van Persie behind Huntelaar," Van Hanegem explained.

"Huntelaar has developed pretty well as a footballer, but his biggest quality is scoring goals. Van Persie is more of an attacking midfielder who scores quite easily, too."

Holland is paired with Denmark, Germany and Portugal in Group B of Euro 2012.
