With the World Cup cycle resetting, el Piojo is hoping to chat with the Real Sociedad star and also wants to speak with Jonathan dos Santos about an El Tri return.
Mexico national team manager Miguel Herrera is set to extend an olive branch to Carlos Vela.
Herrera is planning on speaking to the 25-year-old Real Sociedad forward to once again ask if he has changed his mind about his self-imposed international exile.

“Piojo” will do the same with Villarreal midfield Jonathan dos Santos.
“I’m going to observe Vela and Jonathan and speak to them to see if they are interested,” said Herrera during an event in Mexico City.
Vela is currently suffering from a foot injury, which has kept him out of Real Sociedad’s preseason friendlies, but could still feature in the team’s La Liga opener against Eibar on Sunday.
The former Chivas forward’s last appearance came back in March 2011. Since then, Vela has gone on to become arguably Mexico’s best player.
One player who definitely won’t be featuring in Mexico’s games against Chile and Bolivia in September is Raul Jimenez, who Herrera says he won’t call up in order to let him settle with Atletico Madrid in Spain after his recent transfer from Club America.
The Mexico coach also hinted that he will be using the games to try out players and said it shouldn’t be a surprise if at least some members of El Tri’s Europe-based legion aren’t involved.
The squad list for the two September games will be revealed August 27 or 28, Herrera added.
