The excitable coach believes his side will have their work cut out if they are to claim a third consecutive German top-flight title
The Black and Yellows coach has seen his dynamic young side finish above Bayern to claim the title for the past two seasons, but Klopp insists that Champions League qualification, rather than a third consecutive championship, is his target.
"I knew before Spain's European Championship victory that winning three titles in a row was a possibility, but of course it helps when you have the world's best players," he told Bild. "Bayern are the favourites for this championship. We want to qualify for the Champions League."
Klopp also commented on die Roten's recent decision to fire director of football Christian Nerlinger and replace him with Matthias Sammer, who left his position at the German Football Federation (DFB).
"It's the most spectacular sporting director change in German history. But it would be much worse if Bayern had brought in Matthias Sammer as an in-form player," Klopp joked.
So far this summer, Dortmund has already lost striker Lucas Barrios, who joined Guangzhou Evergrande, and playmaker Shinji Kagawa, who left for Manchester United.
However, the German champion has bolstered its squad with the signings of Marco Reus from Borussia Monchengladbach and striker Julian Schieber from Stuttgart.
