Prior to the north London rivals' clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, the clubs have released a statement warning fans to adhere fully to stadium regulationsArsenal and Tottenham have released a joint statement calling for good behavior from fans during their upcoming north London derby clash.
The two sides meet for the first time this season at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with both teams hoping for a win to keep their Champions League qualification hopes on course.
And, after a controversial year which has seen several high-profile cases of racism and other unsavory behavior, the clubs have insisted the game should be remember solely for what happens on the pitch.
"Both clubs are actively encouraging all fans to focus on getting behind their team and enjoying what promises to be a great match on Saturday," read the statement, which appears on both clubs' official websites.
"A north London derby is always a special occasion and we hope Saturday’s match will be remembered for both the action on the pitch, as well as the positive support for both teams off it.
"All fans should be aware that breaches of stadium regulations – including anti-social behavior - will not be tolerated. Arsenal Football Club does not tolerate discrimination of any sort, whether it be on the pitch or in the stands."
Supporters attending the match have been encouraged to report any unruly behavior to stewards, or to notify authorities by text messaging a special number.
