Nasri committed to Manchester City for the long-term

The France midfielder has hit out at suggestions that his future could lie away from Etihad Stadium saying the club has told him it wants him to stay "for a long time"

Samir Nasri has hit out over speculation he could leave Manchester Citythis summer by outlining his intention to remain with the Premier League champions for many years to come.

Reports in France claim the former Arsenal star could be used as a possible makeweight along with Edin Dzeko in a deal that would see Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller move in the opposite direction.

But Nasri, who has been an integral part of France’s impressive start to the tournament which has left Les Bleus needing just a point against already-eliminated Sweden to qualify for the last eight, is adamant about his future

“Yes of course [I will be in Manchester next season],” he said. “That is why I said something to L’Equipe because they wrote something that isn’t true.

"I spoke with Brian Marwood and everyone and they want me to stay at the club for a long time in Manchester.”

Nasri scored France's opening goal of Euro 2012 against England in the 1-1 draw in Donetsk and will be hoping to add to that tally when Laurent Blanc's side wraps up its group campaign against Sweden on Tuesday.
