thumbnail Hello,

The Fulham midfielder missed the final match of his club season but U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann expects his star to be at full strength in a couple days.

The U.S. team expects a healthy Clint Dempsey for camp.

Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann says the star forward's recent groin injury should not be a long-lasting issue as the American squad begins preparation for next month's World Cup qualifying matches against Antigua & Barbuda and Guatemala.

“Clint has a minor groin injury which should be fine within the next couple of days," Klinsmann said. "We’re going to take it a bit easy in the beginning, and from there we don’t expect any problems.”

Dempsey was among the initial 16 players selected for May's training camp roster. As many as 13 more players will join the team in Orlando, Fla., when the rest of the roster is announced on May 20.

Dempsey just wrapped up his best season with Fulham in the Premier League, scoring 17 league goals for the mid-table club. The 29-year-old missed the team's final match with the groin injury.
