The striker returns to Los Angeles, still looking for his first goal of the 2014 season after 15 appearances with San Jose
The LA Galaxy announced they have acquired forward Alan Gordon from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for allocation money.
The trade marks a return for Gordon, 32, who was drafted by the Galaxy in 2004 and played for the team between 2005 and 2010, winning MLS Cup in 2005.
“Alan is a proven MLS player who adds another scoring threat to our roster going forward,” Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena said in a release. “We are pleased to welcome him back as a member of the Galaxy.”
While with San Jose, Gordon scored 23 league goals. In 2012, he scored a career-high 13 goals, which helped him earn a call-up to the U.S. national team. He had a vital assist in his first and only cap in a game at Antigua and Barbuda.
