Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé becomes the sixth player from the Impact's Academy to sign a professional contract with the club.

Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé has signed a professional contract with the Montreal Impact, the club announced on Thursday. The 19-year-old Sherbrooke, Que. native will join the Impact as a homegrown player after spending time with the Impact's youth academy. As per MLS policy, other details of the deal were not disclosed.

After joining the Impact's academy in 2011, Gagnon-Laparé played with the U18, U19 and U23 teams. Along with playing five games in the Premier Development League (PDL) with the U23 side, he has already featured for the Impact's first team in the MLS reserve league and in this year's Canadian Championship semi-final against FC Edmonton.

Gagnon-Laparé has represented Canada at the youth level and has also made four appearances with the senior side, including two friendly matches against Bulgaria and Moldova in Austria last May.

He is eligble for the Impact's next game away to Chivas USA on Saturday.
