Kei Kamara came on as a substitute and netted an equalizer for SKC in the second half.
Brad Davis opened the scoring just before halftime. A great bit of play from Will Bruin to hold the ball at the top of the box allowed Davis to overlap and latch onto a pass before calmly slotting it home.
Kamara's goal was the end result of a flowing move from Sporting. Claudio Bieler played the final pass for Kamara, who picked it up at the top of the box, took a couple of touches to find a shooting lane, and picked out the lower corner with his left foot.
The result leaves SKC and Houston third and fourth in the East.
