PSV loses ground in title hunt

Atiba Hutchinson played his customary 90 minutes for PSV Eindhoven and picked up a late yellow card on Sunday as the team fell 3-2 at home to Ajax.

The loss is a big one, as PSV could have been level with Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie table with a win. Instead, the side falls to third place, a full six points behind Ajax.

There are four games left on the schedule.

Canadians bit players in Bundesliga clash

Over in Germany, Marcel de Jong and Olivier Occean both started on the bench for their respective sides -- FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt -- in a late-season Bundesliga contest that had implications at either end of the standings.

De Jong subbed in at the 87th minute for Augsburg, which held on to a 2-0 win and crawled closer to automatic safety. Occean, meanwhile, remained on the bench as Eintracht inched closer to losing its European spot.

Köln takes another step towards promotion

Down a rung in the 2. Bundesliga, Kevin McKenna went 90 minutes for FC Köln in a 1-0 win over Aalen on Sunday.

The victory puts Köln into third place in the league, and if things remain the same it would face Augsburg in a promotion playoff.

De Guzman goes 90 in scoreless draw

Julian de Guzman played the entire match for last place SSV Jahn Regensburg in a 0-0 deadlock at SC Paderborn.

With Jahn Regensburg a full 10 points from safety and only five games to go, it's almost a certainty that it will be relegated. Fortunately for de Guzman, he's out of contract following the season.

Friend scores for 1860

Rob Friend was again on the score sheet as he notched the only goal for 1860 Munich in a 3-1 loss at FC St. Pauli.

1860 seems destined for another year in the 2. Bundesliga, as the team sits in sixth place.

Borjan, Sivasspor earn draw

Over in Turkey, goalkeeper Milan Borjan was in the net for Sivasspor on Friday as the club fought to a 1-1 draw with visiting Gençlerbirliği.

Sivasspor sits in 11th place in the Turkish top tier.

Alki tops group in relegation play

In nearby Cyprus, Issey Nakajima-Farran went 74 minutes as his club Alki lept to the top of its group in the relegarion round of the Cypriot 1. Division.

Alki earned top spot with a 2-1 win over Olympiakos on Sunday.

Klukowski's APOEL draws

Meanwhile in Cyprus' championship round, Mike Klukowski started and played the full 90 minutes for APOEL in a scoreless deadlock vs. Anorthosis on Saturday.

APOEL is third in the group after two rounds of play.

QPR closer to relegation

Over in England, Queens Park Rangers inched closer to its doom in the Premier League with a 2-0 loss at Everton over the weekend.

The result -- in which Junior Hoilett played 90 minutes -- left QPR 10 points from safety with just five games left in the season.

Jackson makes cameo for Norwich

In London, Simeon Jackson played the final few injury time minutes as his club Norwich City allowed a lead to slip away en route to a 3-1 loss at Arsenal.

Norwich has had a terrible run of form in recent months and could be in danger of relegation if Wigan takes full advantage of its two games in hand.

Edgar a late sub in Burnley loss

On Saturday, Burnley dropped a 1-0 decision at Blackpool, with defender David Edgar playing the final 16 minutes.

Burnley sits in 14th place in England's Championship division.

Haber subs in for Stevenage

Down in League One, striker Marcus Haber played nearly a half hour for Stevenage in a 2-0 loss to visiting Yeovil Town.

Haber subbed in at the 61st minute.

Hume starts in Doncaster victory

Also in England's third tier, striker Iain Hume started and played 58 minutes for league-leading Doncaster Rovers in a 2-1 vicotry over host Crewe Alexandra.

Hume's replacement, Billy Paynter, scored both of Doncaster's goals to secure the victory.

Cavallini goes 25 in loss

Meanwhile in Uruguay's Primera Division, young striker Lucas Cavallini was a second half participant for Juventud de Las Piedras in a 2-0 loss at Racing over the weekend.

Cavallini subbed into the match at the 65th minute.
