Canadian-born Jonathan de Guzman continued his stellar form for EPL side Swansea with a game-winner on Saturday, lifting his team to a 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Swans jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to de Guzman's 52nd minute strike, and - after allowing the hosts a consolation marker - held on for the one-goal win.
The Welsh club sits in 10th heading into the new year.
Jackson plays final quarter-hour of Norwich-Man City thriller
Mississauga, Ontario's Simeon Jackson was called upon in the 74th minute by Norwich City as the club was involved in a shootout with Manchester City on Saturday. His team scored a minute later, but it couldn't overcome a powerful City offence that prevailed 4-3.
Norwich is in 11th place in the Premier League.
Hoilett sits as QPR thrashed
Junior Hoilett couldn't crack a Queens Park Rangers squad that was dominated from the opening kick in a 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, instead remaining on the bench.
With big changes to come as QPR looks to keep its spot in England's top tier, Hoilett may experience even more turbulence in an unsettling season for the 22-year-old.
Edgar misses Burnley loss
In the second-tier Championship, David Edgar watched from sidelines as his side Burnley fell 1-0 to visiting Leicester City in Saturday's tilt.
Canada's lone representative in the league, Edgar has gone from stalwart to substitute in recent months.
Hume forced to sit in Doncaster rout of PNE
As per terms of his loan agreement to Doncaster Rovers, striker Iain Hume was required to sit out Saturday's contest against Preston North End - the club which owns his contract.
The stipulation did little to hurt Doncaster, which throttled PNE to the tune of a 3-0 scoreline. Rovers are among the favourites to promote from League One to the Championship, as the club is just one point off the top of the English third tier.
Stevenage fixture postponed
Marcus Haber did not get to play over the weekend, as the match involving his team, Stevenage, and Notts County was postponed.
Haber will get his next opportunity on New Year's Day at Walsall.
