Olivier Occean's SpVgg Greuther Fürth remained atop the 2. Bundesliga standings as the club grabbed a 1-1 draw at FSV Frankfurt. More importantly, the point means that Fürth has mathematically booked its spot in the top tier of German football.
Occean, Fürth's leading goalscorer, did not get on the scoresheet in his 63 minutes of play.
Edwini-Bonsu gets a half hour for Braunschweig
Young attacker Randy Edwini-Bonsu subbed in at the 62nd minute for Eintracht Braunshweig as the club battled to a scoreless draw with MSV Duisburg.
Braunschweig is in eighth spot in the 2. Bundesliga with two rounds remaining.
McKenna plays 90 as Köln lets crucial points slip away
Defender Kevin McKenna played the entire match as his side FC Köln drew 1-1 with visitors Stuttgart.
Köln is battling for its Bundesliga life, and took a lead early in the second half before allowing the equalizer twenty minutes later. McKenna's club has two more matches to climb out of the relegation zone.
Blackburn grabs three huge points as Hoilett shines
Junior Hoilett was the hero for relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers, who won a massive game 2-0 over visiting Norwich City.
Hoilett was involved in both goals, helping set up the first and scoring a rocket for Blackburn's second. He was subbed off at the 83rd minute to a big applause from the home faithful, as Rovers climbed to 18th in the Premier League.
On the Norwich side, striker Simeon Jackson of Mississauga, Ontario, was not in the lineup.
Edgar's Burnley thrashed by Blackpool
David Edgar went 90 minutes as his side Burnley was dominated to the tune of 4-0 by host Blackpool on Saturday.
The home team is currently in a fight to stay in the promotion playoffs, and 12th place Burnley was no match for the aspiring Premier League side.
Saints fall out of Europa League spot in Scotland
St. Johnstone dropped a massive 2-0 decision to visiting Dundee United on Saturday, which allowed the visitors to leapfrog the Saints into the final Scottish Europa League berth.
Marcus Haber entered the match at the 58th minute for the Saints, who have four more matches to try to reclaim their berth in European competition.
PSV keeps pace with win
PSV Eindhoven stayed within one point of second place in a very tight Eredivisie with a 2-1 win over NEC on Sunday. The result keeps PSV within a pack of five teams all jockeying for European position.

Goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld could not stop a couple of goals from getting past him as Vålerenga fell 2-0 at home to Sogndal.
