Portuguese giant Benfica takes a 1-0 lead back to Estadio da Luz for Thursday's encounter against Greek side PAOK Salonika. Benfica should prevail and move on to the next round.
After finishing as runner-up to Chelsea in the Europa League final, Benfica is looking to take that extra step this season. But it will need to finish off what will be a feisty PAOK side looking to overturn a 1-0 loss from the first leg.
The home side is favoured with a low offering of 1.44, while a draw/Benfica pick in the double result takes that to a much more respectable 4.00. Even the Benfica/Benfica pick is at 2.10, but the Portuguese side is known for not going full throttle early on.
Benfica is undefeated at home this year, going 10-0-3 (W-L-T) at home during league and Champions League play. I don't anticipate that streak to end today.
If leading goal scorer Oscar Cardozo is out it could spell trouble for goal production for the Lisbon-based club, so waiting for the roster to be released will be imperative if going into the correct scorer market. Cardozo is listed at 1.73, but if he is out then take a look at Brazilian Roger Lima who is at 1.91.
The draw is listed at a hefty 4.50, while PAOK comes in to the game as a large 7.50 underdog and looks to be on its way out of the competition. PAOK is in second place but twenty points behind Olympiakos in the Greek Super League standings and the team has lost four of its last five on the road.
Take the under 2.5 total goals, which is at 1.73. The last eight Benfica games have all hit under, which includes two games against rivals Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto.
