Floro is expected to be announced as Canada's head coach on Friday in Toronto.

As multple reports confirmed on Thursday, the Canadian Soccer Association has finally found its man.

A press conference is set for Friday in Toronto, where Benito Floro is expected to be announced as the new coach of Canada's national mens soccer team.

The 61-year-old native of Gijon, Spain, comes with a plethora of experience, having coached professionally for over 30 years with a wide number of clubs in Spain, Japan and Mexico. Floro's career has included stops at Real Madrid, Villareal and Monterrey, and he was most recently with Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.

Canada has been without a full-time coach since it lost 8-1 to Honduras last October in World Cup qualifying.

FC Edmonton boss Colin Miller is now serving as head coach on an interim basis and will lead Canada in the forthcoming Gold Cup, which kicks off on Sunday.
