thumbnail Hello,

Manager Stephen Hart has named his squad for the August 15 friendly against Trinidad and Tobago. Doneil Henry, Russell Teibert, Evan James and Lucas Cavallini get first call-ups.

Canada has released its 18-man squad for its friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on August 15 in Lauderhill, Florida.

The squad is quite MLS heavy, with 10 members of the roster plying their trade in North America.

Four new faces are involved, as Doneil Henry, Russell Teibert, Evan James and Lucas Cavallini prepare to link up with the senior national team for the first time after participating with Canada’s U-23 team in the ultimately unsuccessful qualifying campaign for the London Olympics.

Four others link up with the squad after not featuring in June, with Terry Dunfield and Patrice Bernier getting the call after being left out, and Marcel de Jong and Jonathan Beaulieu-Bourgault returning after recovering from injuries.

The friendly is a warmup match in preparation for September’s third round of World Cup Qualifying matches against Panama. Canada plays at home on September 7 before travelling to Panama for the return leg on September 11.

“Though this is only a 72-hour FIFA window, the game will serve us well in terms of building towards the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in September,” said Canadian head coach Stephen Hart.
