Atiba Hutchinson saw red after picking up two yellow cards on Saturday. Playing at right back for PSV Eindhoven, his team triumphed 2-1 over Utrecht despite the defender’s 70th-minute dismissal.
PSV Eindhoven currently lead the Dutch Eredivisie with 50 points, three points clear of second-place Ajax.
Occean a sub in defeat
Towering target man Olivier Occean came on as a 60th-minute substitute for Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday in German Bundesliga action, with his team losing 2-0. Unfortunately for his side, Eintracht eventually fell 3-0 to Borussia Dortmund.
Frankfurt now sits in fourth place in Germany’s top division with 37 points.
De Jong plays 90 in loss
Marcel de Jong played at left back for Augsburg in a 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
The loss doesn’t make it any easier for Augsburg, which sits in the relegation zone in 17th place with just 15 points – 11 points back of 15th-place Wolfsburg.
De Guzman starts in loss
Julian de Guzman played the full 90 as his side Jahn Regensburg narrowly lost out to Eintracht Braunschweig 1-0 on Friday in Bundesliga 2 action.
Regensburg now sits in 18th place at the bottom of the German second division with 16 points, seven points back from MSV Duisburg, which sits outside the relegation zone.
Friend scoreless in defeat
Rob Friend couldn’t find the back the net as his side 1860 Munich fell 1-0 to Bochum on Friday.
The forward’s team now sits in ninth in the 2. Bundesliga table on 30 points, level with seventh-place Aalen.
The loss will be especially disappointing for 1860 considering Bochum played a man short from the 17th minute on due to Hólmar Örn Eyjólfsson’s dismissal.
