thumbnail Hello,

The 19-year-old scored the only goal in Juventud de las Piedras' 1-0 win over Central Espanol in the Uruguayan Apertura on Sunday. Cavallini is on loan from Nacional.

Toronto native Lucas Cavallini is off to a bright start in South American professional soccer.

The 19-year-old scored his first professional goal to secure his side Juventud de las Piedras a 1-0 win over Central Espanol on Sunday in the Uruguayan Apertura in only his second match.

Cavallini is on loan from Uruguayan giants Nacional, where he has played for the academy side.

The forward featured for Canada during the country’s ultimately unsuccessful Olympic qualifying campaign for London 2012, and most recently picked up his first senior cap in Canada’s 2-0 friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago on August 13.
