The keeper made some great saves to deny the Baggies but was powerless to stop the strikes from Morrison and Jones. Kept his side in the game at times.
Defensively the Honduras international was caught out on a few occasions and couldn't match up to the physical presence of Romelu Lukaku. His distribution wasn't the best.
Could have done better to stop James Morrison giving West Brom the lead before directing Jones' cross into the back of the net. Not his best game.
Solid at the back and shaded an aerial battle with Romelu Lukaku which the striker fiercely contested all afternoon.
Didn't see much of the ball as he was often pushed back by West Brom's attacks . When he raided forward he offered very little and his crossing was inaccurate.
Was a threat down the left and gave as he good as he got in a battle with Billy Jones. Defensively he was caught out of position on a number of occasions which left the Latics open at the back.
Passed the ball well in midfield. McCarthy was always willing to track back but should have done a lot better to stop Chris Brunt's cross for James Morrison's opener.
Used the ball extremely well in the middle of the park and always seemed to find a teammate in space. Drove forward from deep and tested Boaz Myhill on more than one occasion. Struggled with his passing in the final third of the pitch in the second half.
Was a threat to the West Brom defense as he used pace and movement to get behind them and cause problems. Showed great predatory instincts to nip-in at the back post and score.

The Argentine linked up well at times with Arouna Kone and dropped into space which made it difficult for the Baggies' defenders to pick him up. Was poor in the final third of the pitch when left with an easy option, though.
Made good stops to deny James McCarthy and Ben Watson, although he needed help from his defenders as he parried the ball back into play. Kicking and handling for the main part were solid.
Had a good game pushing forward, and finished well to complete a great team move down the right. Defensively he was good for most of the game but he switched off after his strike, allowing Arouna Kone to get one back for the hosts.
Was solid defensively as Wigan did nothing down their right. He pushed forward on a regular basis and was a threat in the penalty area from corners.
Had a good game. Made an excellent clearance to stop Arouna Kone pouncing on early parry from Myhill. His distribution was sound as he always seemed to find a team-mate.
The experienced defender made a good intervention to stop Maloney getting through on goal. Was solid for the majority of the match and made several good tackles to stop Wigan in their tracks.
Hit a sublime cross to find James Morrison for the Baggies' opener. Was a real threat down the left with his skill and movement. Good performance.
Drove his side forward from the midfield with some formidable running at the Wigan defense which opened a lot of space for the Baggies' other attackers. Was strong in the tackle as he overpowered Wigan's lightweight midfield.
Did his job quietly as he broke up the play nicely and brought the Baggies' more creative players into the game. Picked up a silly booking for kicking the ball away.
Took his goal extremely well as he timed his run to perfection. His passing was expansive as he always looked to bring the front-men into the game, which benefited his team and caused the Latics' defense and midfield problems.
The on-loan striker proved to be a real handful for the Wigan defense. On another day he may have had a couple of goals but was denied by Ali Al-Habsi.
The Irishman drifted in and out of the game, but when he had the ball he was a threat as he always moved towards goal. His movement caused the Wigan defense problems as always seemed to find space in the final third.
