Camilo scored twice to secure a 3-1 comeback win for the Whitecaps over visiting Chivas USA on Wednesday. The Vancouver Whitecaps rode two goals from the in-form Camilo Sanvezzo in a 3-1 come-from-behind win over Chivas USA Wednesday night.
In the opening minutes, Chivas nabbed a shock lead. Tristan Bowen cut inside the right flank and smashed a swerving shot that dipped inside the goal behind Brad Knighton. Bowen is now tied for the team lead in goals this season, on two. The other player to score twice for the Goats in 2013 is Juan Agudelo, now on the New England Revolution following a mid-season trade.
The Canadians took the lead shortly before halftime. Deep in first-half injury time, an intricate move involving Russell Teibert and Camilo fell to Jordan Harvey at the top of the box. The left back ripped a low volley on frame for his third goal in four matches.
A minute later, Teibert stripped Gabriel Farfan at the halfway line and fed Camilo. The Brazilian cut past his marker and slotted home for the go-ahead goal.
With less than 10 minutes remaining in the match, the two Whitecaps goalscorers combined to ice the match. A deflected Harvey cross set up Camilo, who scored his second of the night.
