90' + 5'
Feilhaber lays it off for Morales to have a go, and that'll be that. 0-0 your final score.
90' + 5'
Wow, a late chance maybe for the U.S. from a free kick,
90' + 4'
Feilhaber with what should be the final chance of the night, from a terrible angle, puts it at goal rather than across the face.
90' + 2'
90' + 1'
Agudelo tries to poke one on goal, misses right.
We're into the 90th here. USA now trying to push and there will be 4 minutes of stoppage time to do it with.
Long hopeful ball over the top here late. Gatt never had a chance to run it down.
Canada trying to make a late push, but it's killed off.
Just under 12,000 fans here tonight for the first match at BBVA Compass Stadium. Probably not the turnout Houston was looking for, but not a terrible crowd for a weeknight and a game lacking most of the USA's big names.
Six minutes left and this looks destined to to be a 0-0 draw.
Canada wins a corner, that team's first of the night.
Dwayne De Rosario
Getting closer to the end here with no goals in sight as of now.
Yellow Card Nikolas Ledgerwood
Yellow Card Ashtone Morgan
Agudelo wins a free kick with a nice turn. Maybe a real chance here.
Really nice ball from Bedoya in, Agudelo can't turn it on frame though. Much better half from the U.S., still searching for a goal.
U.S. getting set for two more changes. Home crowd will be happy with Will Bruin coming on for Eddie Johnson. Morales the other man getting set to enter for Beckerman.
Now Feilhaber concedes a free kick going the other way.
Good ball from Feilhaber. Earns another corner.
Another free kick, another good spot for service.
Gonzalez flashes his header over the top.
Free kick for the USA from a good spot.
We've come in for a nice fouling pattern in the last minute or two.
Bedoya is coming in for Zusi. Agudelo for Davis. Doniel Henry in for Attakora for Canada as well.
Bedoya and Agudelo getting set to come on.
Attakora defended Johnson very well there, never let him get turned.
Now it's Evans down the right and this time Johnson blasts a shot over the top of goal.
Zusi has floated in two crosses that weren't good enough. But once again, the USA is starting to find space down the sides.
Gatt again goes off on a run. Loses the ball. But he's showing effort, which is more than can be said for a few of the players on the pitch. He's trying to get forward with the ball, which this matches desperately needs.
DeRo flashes a header wide.
Canada with a set piece here. Not a bad angle to serve a ball from either.
Davis drags his shot wide of the mark after Johnson sets him up well. Best move of the night from the USA. Corner given.
Gatt trying to get a run in down the right. Canada slows it, knocks it out of play. Second half being played at a slightly higher pace.
Really? I'd like an explanation of how that was a foul on Zusi.
Clumsy foul from Beckerman,
Evans has gone to right back. Gatt to the left flank, and Feilhaber into the middle.
Joshua Alexander Gatt
Alright, we're underway. Let's see if the changes do anything to pick this game up.
Two subs made for the USA. Gatt in for Wondo, Feilhaber in for Beltran.
45' + 1'
And there it is. The whistle. Halftime.. maybe some changes can liven this us.
Mercifully, the first half is almost over.
Another corner! Yes people, these really have been the most exciting moments of the game. Though again, nothing from it. One minute added on.
Morrow winds up and hit one. Not a good effort.
AHH, we've got a corner for the USA here. That's something at least. Crowd comes to life a bit.
Snoozer of a half. Both teams seem content to take the air out of the ball.
Canada with a nice set piece setup as well. Again, no real chance from it.
Canada gets a nice cross in. Well done. Beckerman clears. USA defending well. I guess that's a positive.
Beckerman throws a cross into the box. Not too much Wondo can do with it other than flick it toward the back stick.
Beckerman decides to try his luck from 40. Nothing doing, but that's about as close to goal as the midfielder has come.
Beltran gets in down the right, fires a low cross in to Wondo. Well defended, but a nice build.
Canada finally got a nice long run on the ball. Ended without a chance, but still a solid run for the visitors.
Honestly, not much to tell you about at the moment. More of the same.
Wondo takes a crack from 25 yards, low and hard, keeper makes the save.
Still not the highest pace to this game. Looks like a friendly honestly, but I think at this point Klinsmann will be happy with what he's seen. Lot of the ball for the US and now the team is slowly starting to open up some cracks in Canada's back line.
Wondolowski goes for the spectacular. Doesn't come off. Canada has done well to limit any real chances to this point, but the U.S. has had the majority of play. DeRo's chance for Canada is still the best of the night to this point.
Corner won for the US. First of the night.
Eddie Johnson with some good work down the left. His cross finds nobody in the box though and rolls out of play.
Besler tries to open things up with a long diagonal ball.. out of play. Zusi just couldn't chase it down.
As if on cue, DeRo hit a left-footed volley that Johnson has to punch away. Could have been a costly early mistake.
Klinsmann's team seems utterly content to control possession and knock it around the back. Canada won't mind too much at this point. Some counterattacking opportunities usually show up when a team swings it side to side this much
After a long spell on the ball, the U.S. ends up wasting a cross. Out for a goal kick.
Canada with the first move forward of the game. Nothing from it. USA trying to move the ball around the back.
Alright, here we go. The USA is moving right to left as I look at it and will get us going with the opening kick.
Teams are walking out of the tunnel now. Canada in the all white strip, the USA rocking the blues tonight.
We are drawing closer to kick here, which is slated for 8:11 local time. About 15 minutes off now.
Both teams out on the pitch getting warmed up. Looks like, for now, that the weather is going to hold off.
Simon Thomas makes his first star in goal after getting his first cap on Saturday. The rest of the Canadian team: Nik Ledgerwood, Ashtone Morgan, Nana Attakora, Dejan Jakovic, Terry Dunfield, Kyle Bekker, Tosaint Ricketts, Russell Teibert, Jonathan Beaulieu-Bourgault, and DeRo
USA: Sean Johnson makes his first start in goal, Justin Morrow, Tony Beltran and Matt Besler all get their first caps and the fourth defender, Omar Gonzalez gets his first match since 2011. Kyle Beckerman is the captain, the team is unbeaten and untied in six games with Graham Zusi in the lineup, Brad Evans is in on one wing with Brad Davis making his first appearance since 2010 on the other. Up top, Eddie Johnson and Chris Wondolowski, who will be playing his 11th game for the USA but has yet to score.
Lineups are in. For the USA, some interesting notes. Let's get right to it.
