Lewis Holtby got the scoring underway after 12 minutes with a well-guided header from Harry Kane’s cross.
The hosts pulled level in the 34th minute after Michael Dawson fouled Chad Marshall inside the box and Gonzalo Pineda stepped up with a Panenka-style penalty to beat Brad Friedel.
The Sounders pulled ahead four minutes after the break following a sublime long-range strike from Osvaldo Alonso, although Roberto Soldado was quick to level the score with a penalty after the Spaniard was brought down by Marshall.
The hosts took the lead once again as Tristan Bowen netted from close range with 11 minutes remaining but Tottenham was awarded its second penalty of the match following DeAndre Yedlin’s hand ball. Iago Falque was on hand to secure a draw for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Tottenham takes on Toronto FC in its next fixture on July 23 before facing the Chicago Fire on July 26.
