Looked very shaky when claiming set pieces, which almost certainly didn't fill his defenders with confidence. Was a spectator for most of the first half, whether it was being stood on the edge of his box, or watching Livaja's strike crack off the upright.
Struggled in front of goal when he was presented with a couple of good opportunities. Definitely should have found himself on the score sheet in the second half, but squandered two fantastic chances in the space of five minutes.
Dominated Palacio and Livaja aerially throughout the game, and made some important interceptions to deny the Croatian. A generally solid game from the defender.
Often found himself in the Inter half, more than his own. Was unfortunate not to turn home a squared ball by Osvaldo in the second half, but at times was wasteful in possession.
Made some vital interceptions, especially from Livaja, and oozed calmness in tricky situations. A strong performance from the defender, who managed to keep Inter's tricky duo upfront relatively quiet.
Managed to get into a good position to be brought down for Roma's penalty, and used his engine well to press Inter relentlessly. The American had a very strong game, dictating play and driving forward whenever he could.
D. De Rossi
Substituted at half time, presumably due to the fact he picked up a yellow card cynically in the first half. Did nothing wrong on the field however, and retained possession comfortably.
Had a great deal of possession in the first half, and should have perhaps done more with the ball - maybe even by grabbing a goal. Faded in the second half, but had a very strong first 45.
Took his penalty well, blasting it with great force, and generally pulled the strings throughout, with the maestro's long passing a particular highlight.
Wasteful in the first half, dragging countless efforts wide of the post. It just wasn't his night, nothing seemed to go right, whether it was offside decisions or just poor finishing.
Should have probably had a goal to his name in the first 45 minutes, but a lack of composure left him goalless, in what was otherwise an energetic performance.
Made a magnificent double save in the second half to deny both Osvaldo and Totti, and generally had a great game. His side could well have found themselves conceding several more goals if a different man had been in between the posts.
Unfortunate not to turn home an equalizer after a goalmouth scramble.
Had a solid game, and did well in the air. Was perhaps a tad unfortunately not to score in the first half from a corner, but generally did okay against a fluid Roma front three.
Was unlucky to have a penalty awarded against him, after miscalculating and losing control of his body whilst sliding in to intercept the ball.
Struggled to impose himself in a game which generally progressed through the midfield at great pace. However, he did everything right off the ball.
Used his engine to get forward whenever possible, but defensively was left a little bit wanting. Definitely wasn't the worst performer on the pitch however, and put in a great deal of work off the ball.
Failed to have any real impact on the game, and was unsurprisingly the first casualty of Stramaccioni's substitution decisions.
Powerful and solid game from the Colombian, who was the engine room of the Inter midfield, also providing a great assist for his teammate Palacio. On another day, he might have converted one of his long range efforts too, in a very strong performance.
Struggled to deal with the fluid passing of Roma, as they often bypassed the midfield altogether. Struggled to deal with Michael Bradley, too.
Great performance from the Argentine, who was always an outlet for his side, and took his first half goal extremely well. He was perhaps unlucky to have Livaja, who was offside, take the ball off his foot in a good goalscoring position.
Showed moments of real quality. Was desperately unlucky not to see his first half brilliance rewarded with a goal, as a smart strike on the turn rattled Roma's woodwork.
