Had to be on his toes all night as Valencia's counterattacks meant he was exposed more often than he's used to. Kept Madrid in contention with two wonderful saves from Feghouli and Parejo.
Got out-muscled and outfought by Mathieu for the opening goal as he allowed the Frenchman to score a header from a few yards out. Was very composed and assured in possession though, and passed out from the back well.
Was in the right place at the right time in the second half to score what he thought was a vital equalizer. Perhaps was too eager to get on the scoresheet again in the latter stages though as he slightly shirked his defensive responsibilities as Madrid chased the game.
Got into his usual positions on the left-hand side and put some teasing crosses into the box, but just didn't display his usual industry as he barely got beyond Ronaldo on the overlap or made bursting runs into the box.
Solid performance getting up and down the right flank.
Couldn't find space beyond Keita and Javi Fuego just in front of the Valencia defense, which affected his ability to create and pick out passes from central areas. Saw the ball too much in deeper areas and didn't get into the final third enough.
Was neat in his passing of the ball and often found the mark with his balls inside to teammates, but perhaps just lingered in possession a little more than required. Replaced at the break by Di Maria.
Attempted to keep the ball moving around the pitch with pace and regularly fizzed excellent passes into the attackers, but positioning was suspect at times as he left a big space in front of the Madrid defense.
Worked the channels well and made some intelligent runs in behind the defense, creating space for others. However, had a couple of shots on goal that went way over the bar despite doing good work initially to create the chance for himself.
Looked to take the initiative whenever he picked up the ball on the counterattack and slid some nice passes to teammates in the channels, but didn't pose much of a goalscoring threat himself, with only a weak header by the post to his name.
Cut a frustrated figure at times and it is no real wonder considering he was continually and relentlessly denied by Diego Alves in the Valencia goal. Scored the equalizer in the dying minutes with a terrific flick but failed to claim all three points moments later when he sent a header wide.
Was the man of the match by a mile as he was the main reason Valencia left the match with a share of the points. Looked unbeatable at times as he continually foiled Madrid and Ronaldo in particular with a string of impressive, solid saves. Could do nothing to prevent either goal.
Kept himself narrow and part of the defensive unit and didn't allow Ronaldo too much space to cut inside and shoot. Did make some poor decisions at the back though and was lucky not to give away a penalty in the latter stages.
Was composed and assured in possession at the back and was always looking to catalyze attacking through passes into the midfield area. Opened the scoring in the first half when he shook off the attentions of Varane to nod the ball past Diego Lopez from a corner.
Proactively attempted to come out of his position in defense to steal the ball from the feet of the Madrid attackers, which did come off a few times. Headed plenty of crosses out of the box but did look capable of a mistake with the ball at his feet.
Was Valencia's biggest attacking threat in the first half and was effective in defense as well as an attacking sense. Continually got back to help out his full backs and tracked the runs of Marcelo. Set up the second goal after some terrific work in the channel.
Cut a frustrated figure at times in the first as he didn't look altogether comfortable shifted on to the left-hand side of midfield, despite setting up the opening goal. However, looked a different player in the second period and scored the second with a superb finish into the corner.
Allowed the ball to surpass him in midfield a few times but was a solid barrier in front of the Valencia defense and didn't allow Isco to pick up the ball in his favorite position in between the midfield and attack.
Displayed an impressive engine as he got himself up and down the left-hand side for the majority of the match. Was involved in an entertaining duel with Carvajal on the wing and gave as good as he got in terms of well-timed tackles.
Attempted to get in the faces of the Madrid attackers and was always back helping out his defense, even though he was easily bettered by the pace of Bale and Ronaldo when run at by the Madrid men.
Was deployed just behind the striker but often drifted away from this position, which meant Alcacer was fairly isolated up top. Performance lacked an elusive shot on goal or decisive pass or cross.
Looked slightly off the pace at times as on a couple of occasions his touch let him down inside the box, when a better touch would have resulted in a free shot on goal. Didn't offer much and was withdrawn midway through the second half.
