The Union will look to make up ground in the Eastern Conference playoff race by taking three points from the fifth-place Red Bulls.
Such is the nature of the congested Eastern Conference, which sees the Union (4-8-7) sit just four points back of the fifth-place New York Red Bulls (5-5-8) going into the I-95 rivals' meeting Wednesday at PPL Park (7 p.m., ESPN2).
While the Union surrendered a late two-goal lead in a 3-3 draw with Colorado on Saturday, the Red Bulls are unbeaten in five matches and fresh off a 4-1 thrashing of Columbus.
The Red Bulls could have midfielder Dax McCarty back in the starting lineup after he returned from injury with a 29-minute appearance against Columbus. The Union, meanwhile, will be without defender-midfielder Amobi Okugo after he received a red card versus Colorado.
New York won the teams' previous meeting this season, a 2-1 result April 16 at Red Bull Arena.
