New England had the better of play, but neither side could find the net in what turned out to be a lackluster draw. The New England Revolution and Vancouver Whitecaps played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday in the home opener for New england.
The Revolution were the better team in the first half, but failed to open the scoring, thanks to Whitecaps goalkeeper David Ousted. The Dane made a number of saves, including a fantastic sprawling stop off an Andy Dorman header early on to keep the score level.
Vancouver's first real chance of the game came deep into first-half stoppage time, but even then Kenny Miller's curling shot was easily kept out by Bobby Shuttleworth.
The game played out much the same in the second half. Dorman, Diego Fagundez and Kelyn Rowe were among those with chances to put the home team in front, but the breakthrough wasn't on the cards with Vancouver content to sit back and hold onto the point.
