The Canadian side's Designated Player came through with a solo effort early on to give his team a rare road victory
Toronto FC got an early goal from Matias Laba and made it stand up, earning a 1-0 road win against the New England Revolution Sunday night.
TFC got off to a dream start and was ahead within the game's first two minutes. Laba intercepted possession around midfield and went on a surging run into New England's box. After beating a defender, his shot was blocked, but Laba followed his shot and put the rebound away.
The visitors dropped back defensively, and successfully repelled any Revolution attacks for the rest of the game, holding on for only their fourth win of the season. Diego Fagundez nearly scored a spectacular equalizer at the death, but his scissors kick flew just wide.
