A mistake at the back for New England led to the Philadelphia Union returning to league play with a win.The Philadelphia Union took advantage of a gift from José Gonçalves to earn a 3-1 win over the New England Revolution as the two sides returned to league action.
Gonçalves' loose back header was pounced on by Sebastien Le Toux, who had the simple task of tapping the ball home once he beat Brad Knighton to it, giving the Union a 1-0 lead.

Danny Cruz doubled the Union's lead in the 69th minute, but New England hit back almost immediately through Saer Sene, who gave his side a bit of hope with his finish on 73 minutes.
Le Toux made sure of the result five minutes later after being picked out by Andrew Wenger and finishing into the corner to make it 3-1.
The win gives the Union some much-needed points, with the club still outside the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
