New England Revolution 2-1 D.C. United: Young stars shine for Revs

Stew Milne

New England's young stars once again took center stage as the club took a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

New England's youthful attack was once again on display as both Patrick Mullins and Diego Fagundez scored in a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

Mullins opened the scoring in the 55th, pouncing on a ball in the box and skipping past a defender before clipping home his chance.

United pulled level in the 73rd through Fabian Espindola, who collected a skipping cross from Cristian Fernandez and turned it home with his left foot after taking a touch.

Fagundez put New England back in front four minutes later, drifting in on the back post to finish off a deflected cross from Teal Bunbury.

Eddie Johnson was shown a straight red in the 82nd for lashing out at Kelyn Rowe, making the job even more difficult for United, and New England hung on for the win.
