Montreal created more chances in the second half, but ultimately was unable to find the crucial goal.

The Montreal Impact failed to find the back of the net in a 0-0 home draw agaisnt Sporting Kansas City on Saturday afternoon, putting a major dent in their fading playoff hopes.

Sporting Kansas City dominated the first half, creating several chances and it was unlucky not to find the net as the match entered the break scoreless. Its best chance came through a Graham Zusi effort in the 12th minute.

The second half was a more even affair, as the home side desperately tried to find a crucial winning goal. Davy Arnaud came the closest with a shot that just whizzed by the far post from inside the box in the 68th minute.

Sporting increased its lead atop the Eastern Conference to five points over Chicago with the draw, while Montreal now sits six points behind Houston for the final playoff spot, with the Dynamo carrying two matches in hand.
