Landon Donovan will be available for the Galaxy two days after being cut from the USA's 23-man World Cup squad.
Controversially omitted Thursday from Jurgen Klinsmann's final 23-man roster for Brazil, Donovan will be available to play for the LA Galaxy when they host the Union on Sunday (8 p.m. ET, Univision Deportes).
"He's doing well given the circumstances," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena told reporters Friday. "I would think that he'll be available to play on Sunday for sure."
The Galaxy (3-3-3) are coming off a 2-1 midweek win over FC Dallas, which snapped a four-game winless stretch. The struggling Union enter the match at 2-6-5, with four losses in their last five, though they will get a U.S. international of their own back after Maurice Edu also was cut from camp Thursday.
The Galaxy do remain without center back Omar Gonzalez, who made Klinsmann's final squad, as well as injury absentees Todd Dunivant (abdomen) and Marcelo Sarvas (knee). The Union will be missing suspended midfielder Cristian Maidana.
