Will Bruin's strike just before the break was enough for Houston to claim a win over Montreal.A single Will Bruin goal, thanks to a generous deflection, was enough to hand Houston a 1-0 win over the Montreal Imapct.
With 40 minutes played, Bruin picked up the ball just outside Montreal's box and tried to curl a shot into the far corner. A deflection off a defender redirected the shot over the head of Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins and into the net.
Montreal had a great chance to equalize from a corner just after the hour mark, but Kofi Sarkodie was able to clear Andrew Wenger's poked effort off the line to keep the home side in front.
Bruin had a couple of chances to double his team's lead, but Perkins was on hand to keep the lead to just one on each occasion.
Despite not being able to extend the lead, Houston managed to hang on to keep its perfect record intact two games into the season.
