D.C. United 1-2 New England Revolution: Second-half comeback piles another defeat on United

D.C. went up early in the first, but stayed true to form as the Revs claimed the win with a second-half resurgence.

D.C. United experienced the unfamiliar joy of an early lead, but came crashing down to earth as it lost to the New England Revolution 2-1 at RFK Stadium.

D.C. grabbed a goal in the eighth minute. John Thorrington threaded a pass to Luis Silva, who sidestepped to make himself some space before knuckling a low shot into the corner of the post.

New England rebounded in the second half. Dimitry Imbongo equalized in the 54th minute, putting his foot to a Chris Tierney cross that Joe Willis really should have claimed.

Less than 10 minutes later, the visiting side was ahead. Saer Sene's shot rebounded off the crossbar, but Diego Fagundez slipped in and headed home the follow-up for his seventh on the year.

New England moves into the fifth and final playoff spot in the East with the win. United remains in last overall.
